Meet the instructor

Becky Woodward

My neighbor introduced me to the magic of gourd art over 10 years ago and since retiring in 2023, I have been evolving artistically and finding such joy in creating art on the humble gourd.  Having learned different techniques from other gourd artists who are so willing to share their knowledge, I now enjoy carving, wood burning, painting, pine needle coiling, ink dyeing, using colored pencils…oh so many fun things to do on these wonderful natural canvases.  I have taught gourd art classes at the annual Florida Gourd Festival held in Melbourne, Florida the end of every February and love sharing what I have learned with new gourd enthusiasts!
