Plein Air Paint Out Volunteer Opportunities

12th Annual Plein Air Paint Out

This year’s event is loaded with great demo’s located throughout New Smyrna Beach, and daily at our pavilion or on site.  Our Collector’s Reception will be held at the Brannon Center with a live and silent auction, drawings, and great food.  Our Grand Finale will feature our “Blending of the Brushes” and will be held at the AWI studios and under the pavilion.  There’s something for everyone’s schedule.

Please review the attached list of positions available.  Reply to melissaschwenn@gmail.com  with the date, time, and positions you are interested in.  Please feel free to volunteer as much as you’d likeWe will do our best to put you in the positions requested.  Once a schedule is complete, I will send out an email to confirm your volunteer schedule.

I’ve also attached a list of job descriptions to explain the not so obvious positions.  Volunteers like you make this event possible!!!  We greatly appreciate your consideration.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know as many positions can be flexible.

Jobs Include:

Set up or Tear Down– requires some lifting.  Oct 14-17, Oct 19 (Brannon Center) & Oct 22 at the AWI/MDC pavilion. (Schedule to follow.)

Demo Assistant– Pass out Event Rack Card, assist artist as needed, answer questions. Oct 18-22, 9am to 12 and 1pm to 3pm at various locations.

Art Assistant– Help with receiving art from artist, log in and photograph artwork for website. Oct 17, 12pm to 5pm, Oct 18-22 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.

Gallery Monitors– Pass out information, answer questions and monitor guests in gallery. Oct. 18-22, 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.

Art Sales/Auction Sales– Assist the Sales Manager in checking out customers buying artwork.  Friendly and outgoing a must!! Oct 18-22 at Studio Gallery 2 Shifts, 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm; Collector’s Reception Auction Sales at the Brannon Center, Oct 19 4pm to 9pm; Grand Finale at the Pavilion Oct 22 4pm to 9pm.

Ticket Sales– Sale tickets for our prize drawing during the Collector’s Reception. Oct 19 and Oct 22, 4pm to 9pm.

Welcome Table– Check in guests to event, answer questions.  Oct 19 at Brannon Center & Oct 22 at AWI/MDC, 4pm to 9pm.

Silent Auction Assistant– Answer questions, encourage sales, monitor guests around artwork. Oct 19 at Brannon Center, 4pmto 9pm.

Kids Paint Too! Assistant- Monitor children, assist artist, set up and tear down paint supplies. Oct 18 at AWI/MDC pavilion, 8am to 2pm.

Food Service– Setting up, serving, and cleaning up, before, during and after Grand Finale Oct 22 at AWI/MDC pavilion, 4pm to 9pm.

Artist Orientation Asst.- Set up food service, serve, and clean up after orientation.  Oct 17, at MDC lab , 4pm to 7pm.

Lunch Pick up Assist– Oct 18-22, 11:00 to 12:00

Computer Data Entry– Input Artist painting information into a database.  Oct 17-22 at MDC Lab, 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.

Social Media Assist– Take photographs at demo locations throughout the week and upload to office for social media. Oct 18-22 flex schedule

Parking– Assist and Direct guests to parking areas during event.  Oct 22  at MDC/AWI, 4pm to 9pm

Golf Carts– Transport guests from parking to pavilion and return (Must supply golf cart).  Oct 22 at MDC/AWI, 4pm to 9pm

Bartenders- Set up and Bar Back during event and clean up after. Brannon Center Oct. 19, 3pm to 9pm; Set up and Bar Back during event and clean up after.  Pavilion Oct 22 3pm to 9pm

Event Set Up– Brannon Center Oct 19 12pm to 5pm, Pavilion Oct 22 12 to 5pm

Kitchen- Clean rental glasses for return and event tear down.  Brannon Center Oct 19 5pm to 9pm
