Creative Strategies for Artists – a monthly roundtable of Visual Art Discussions & Art Production

Calling all Artists! Are you looking for a place that fosters a diverse creative community in a dynamic group setting through presentations, round tables and creative problem-solving techniques on all things visual arts, art history, art production and culture? Join fellow artists at The Artists’ Workshop in an all-inclusive creative space!  Each month, a maximum of 12 artists (first come, first serve) can register monthly by email to Lisa Carlson llccrc@yahoo.com. Then we’ll meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 6-8:30 pm in Studio C. Lisa will send a Creative Strategies digital document to each interested artist before our first session.  During this time in Creative Strategies for Artists, we will
-Present Unique & Interesting Topics Relating to All Visual Artists 
-Deepen Our Understanding of Unique Ways We Create as Individuals Through Short Presentations & Diverse, Hands-On Art Making Activities 
-Build Community Through Comrodery & Collaboration using Roundtable Sessions & Feedback
-Share The Facilitatory Role Through The Unique Lense of Each Member

Bring your own materials. Additional fees might be added, if the head of the session brings in materials for everyone to try.

Lisa Carlson

Lisa is an art educator with a demonstrated history of working in the fine art industry as both a creator and teacher.

Skilled in cultivating critical thinking to motivate creative output in others, curriculum development, public speaking, and art production in drawing, painting & print making. She graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Painting & Drawing/Art Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Also holding an M Ed in Art Education from The Pennsylvania State University that includes a specialization in curriculum development with additional hours in painting & drawing.

She’s taught at FSU’s research & development school, K-12th, including AP course work. She’s also taught at three other public school systems & private institutions across the south. She also enjoys photography, fitness pursuits and spending time with her husband & three (almost grown) children and family fur kids Louie & Coco.


Ruth Squitieri

Ruth is a sought-after instructor at the Artists Workshop in New Smyrna Beach, teaching principles of Composition and Perspective, along with an intensive Immersion into Art for Beginners, a class on Classical Head and Figure Drawing, and Pen and Ink Sketching. She also coordinates the weekly Life Drawing sessions. Ruth loves to share her talent and knowledge, and has been participating at various paintout/plein air festivals in Florida for many years.
