Pat Zalisko and Karlene McConnell will conduct a one-day workshop on the Basics of Art Marketing on Tuesday, January 17th, 2012, at AWI Studios, our new space on Barracuda Blvd. McConnell is an art educator, a former museum curator, and has extensive experience with outdoor juried shows, galleries and museums. Zalisko is an emerging artist who is exhibiting her art in galleries, museums and select exhibitions. The cost of the one-day workshop will be $75. The first half of the day will focus on identifying your objectives; how to find venues to show your art; how to apply for calls for submission and practical advice on how to meet the usual requirements for sending your art and/or portfolio to different venues; creating a portfolio for submission; building your contact list and credentials; how to talk about your art; photographing and storing images; and technologies that allow artists to get their art before the public. The second half of the day will be spent discussing individual portfolios one-on-one with participants; and, if a wireless connection is available at our new location, a review of individual websites. Participants will be asked to submit their portfolios, CD's of the art they submit to venues, and/or the website information for review by Karlene or Pat at least a week prior to the workshop. Workshop attendance will be limited to 12 artists.

NO REFUNDS will be given for any reason except cancellation of the workshop.
In order to meet our expenses a minimum number of students need to be registered six weeks prior to the start or the workshop or it will be canceled. 
A written notice of cancellation will be accepted on non-discounted monies with a written notice three weeks prior to the start of the workshop, less a $25.00 handling fee.  There will be no refunds after that time.
