If you weren't at the studios last Friday, you really missed a great party!
We had a wonderful social hour for the installation of our new board of officers.
Last Friday the "crown" was passed from Joe Anglin to Cheryl Faber. The installation of the new officers took place at the studios and was a great hit. Everybody brought some food, and the table was overflowing with goodies to sample. Beer and wine was supplied by the Artists Workshop, and great entertainment provided by our own Patrick Rausch and his band "Glencoe Ridge". They played a wonderful variety of songs and many of the guests stayed right at the "stage" and heartily sang along.
Mayor James Hathaway started off the party by swearing in the new officers:
President - Cheryl Faber
Vice President - Susie Means
2nd Vice President - Bob Grayson
Treasurer - Shirley Pittman
Recording Secretary - Sue Stoddart
Corresponding Secretary - Carole Ryan
We said Goodbye to Joe, who had been our fearless leader for the past year. Thanks for everything, Joe, and may you enjoy your well-deserved vacation and more play time with your paints!
The fantastic artwork of the Lagoonacy show complimented the party. It's great to see all the walls filled with Florida wildlife and environments created by many of our teachers and artists!
The Lagoonacy fundraiser for the Marine Discovery Center was the catalyst for the artwork displayed on our walls. This is one of the ways we can collaborate with MDC with their mission of preservation. Thanks to Joann Reilly, Joe Anglin, Cheryl Faber, Patrick Rausch and two teams of volunteers for painting the walls in studio B and the Marilyn Rolland Studio/gallery a few months ago.
Thanks also to Patrick Rausch, Bob Stinziano and Marty Potter for installing the new hanging system, and to JoAnn Reilly and several artists for assistance hanging the artwork. We couldn't do it all without all the wonderful volunteers and the board who dedicate so much of their time to make our organization a success.
Our fearless new leader, Cheryl.
This party was a great start to the new season under a new leadership! Many exciting changes coming! Keep your eyes and ears open, OPEN YOUR EMAILS, check the website, and mark your calendar for the first meeting on September 5. Have a great summer...
Happy Painting and Creating! Ruth
