In the workshop, everyone learns
the Elements of Art and Principles of Design and an extended lesson in
Color Theory and Techniques of Watercolor. From there everyone learns
how to do contour line drawing and begins to develop an individual
style. As the artists’ progress, they are exposed to many different
mediums and decide what medium they want to work in, pencil drawing,
painting in watercolor or acrylic, or pastel drawing.
Each class you will find artists
working in different mediums. We have ventured into Japanese Ink
Painting and Chinese Calligraphy, still life and landscape painting,
shaving cream and acrylic experimental painting, painting with strips of
cardboard, some students have even ventured into the realm of
printmaking.
We have many seasoned artists and
some of whom were considered beginners when they started class in the
fall. I would say that these artists have moved out of the beginner
class and are fulfilling their dreams and successfully creating art.
Future plans are to continue the
Workshop through spring and summer with
Classes in Drawing, Pen & Ink
drawing, Pastels, Watercolor, Acrylic Painting, Bookmaking, paper
marbling, and relief printmaking.
